Cyanotype Day
I started experimenting with cyanotype in 2019. We gathered with the Photo Group in James Lattanzio’s backyard where he taught us the basics of cyanotype.

It was a lovely Sunday and a beautiful experience with this group of friends and photographers led by Paul B. Goode.

So today, we had an intense blue sky here in Long Island City without even a single cloud, and 90ºF: I couldn’t help getting out to make cyanotypes. I set up a little studio behind PS1 and worked on my 4stones project. Since I have only one set of four stones and each exposure takes between 15 and 18 minutes, I can expose only four or five compositions on the same day. Then there are the washing and drying that take time too.

I will have to look at the sky and my schedule to push forward this project I will call “4stones in Blue.” More coming soon… By the way, it’s Bastille Day in France: le 14 juillet, our National Day.
