All the World in New York City - Award

I’m thrilled to announce that I received an award from the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for two of my portraits of immigrants. This institution is opening a new DNA Learning Center in New York City. A permanent exhibition - All the World in New York City - will feature photographs of the many races, cultures, and ethnicities represented by the people living today in New York, America’s traditional immigrant city. These portraits of New Yorkers will illustrate migrations that have mixed people and their DNA throughout history.

Thanks to Sue Lauter, Creative Director at the DNA Learning Center for putting all this together, and Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe for selecting my work.

And of course, thanks to Tuce and Roma for participating in my project “Immigrant Song.” Congratulations to all the winners!
