Artists Navigating 2020 - Exhibition

I'm thrilled to be part of Artists Navigating 2020, a juried online exhibition of work by Long Island City-based artists. The show reflects our current times during COVID-19 and our experience as artists. It’s put together in collaboration with the Queens Memory Project, the Public Library at Hunters Point, and Culture Lab LIC.

These images were made in the first months of the pandemic. Most of them were taken from my living room where I was stuck in isolation. Looking at the window, they are metaphors translating the urge to escape, not only from the pandemic but also from the pressure of circumstance.

In the beginning, they were not intended to be a project. Now I see them together, I’m thinking of creating a new body of work. To be continued…

Thanks to Norma Homberg for inviting me.
